Waiting for Three

Original watercolour on arches 140lb paper.
This painting has been double matted with an archival white mat and is sold unframed in a clear plastic sleeve.  The outside dimensions of the mat are 17.625″ x 21.25″.  The painting will need to be framed behind glass.

The title Waiting for Three suggests a tranquility as well as a tension between the stillness and contemplation of the still life and the potential for a third to join the grouping.  This “third” might allude to a classic grouping of three objects, or could suggest the coming of a child and the longing of the parents.

Waiting for Three received a second place award at the 2021 “Somewhere in Time” Exhibition with the Victoria Federation of Canadian Artists.
